I didn’t know where to begin when I said that I’d be taking more photos again, sharing them on here and writing about them like I used to once upon a time ago (mainly on flickr.com back then and followed by Instagram until recently, which were two totally different types of platform). I guess the latter had altered the way I presented my photos… somehow. Soooo, this is the day I begin another chapter of my online photo sharing… with some colour popping! YES. Typically, when I shoot, I try my best to look for some ‘colour pop’ effect.

Colour Pop – A digital effect in which part of an image is shown in colour, the rest of the image being in grey or a dull monochrome.

It can be from the subject itself (like the red berries on the featured photo of this post) or a contrasting colour of the background (like the orange wall in the second photo above).

A ‘colour pop’ effect makes any photos pop out and give them an interesting contrast, don’t you think so? I anyway had an advantage of it being a snowy winter day. Everywhere was literally white / grey and obviously, these colours caught my attention. The way the cropping of a 50mm lens works played a role too and made me shoot more creatively.

I don’t know why but I know that I will try to begin again, to begin again, to begin. To live and love and breathe again. And cry because I’m happy, and hold my friends like long lost lovers.
